If you need 12 testers for 14 days to publish on Google Play, there are basically 3 paths. None are magic. Here's the honest comparison.
1. Acquaintances (free, unreliable)
You ask friends and family to install your app and use it for two weeks.
- Free.
- Almost nobody finishes the 14 days. They forget by day three.
- Doesn't scale: do you have 12 acquaintances with an Android who are up for it? I didn't.
Good if: you already have a community.
2. Cross-testing (free, takes time)
You test other devs' apps and they test yours. It's a trade.
- Free.
- They're devs: they get the commitment.
- Takes your time (you have to test several apps too).
- You have to coordinate and trust the other side delivers.
Good if: you have time and don't want to spend.
3. Real paid testers (costs a bit, fastest)
You pay a small reward to real human testers who commit to the 14 days.
- Fast and reliable.
- Real humans (no bots = safe account).
- Costs a bit (not much, but not free).
- Careful: make sure they're real, not cheap bot farms.
Good if: you want to finish fast without wasting your time.
The golden rule
No matter which you pick: never use bots or fake accounts. Google detects them and bans you. Better 12 real than 50 ghosts.
We built TesterSplay for paths 2 and 3 (free cross-testing or real paid testers). But even if you don't use us: go with real humans. It's the only way that won't blow up in your face.
